On Saturday July 6, 1974, Rich Stadium held the first ever concert in its history. Eric Clapton headlined, with The Band serving as a warm up, and a band described as “Ross” from England” opened. Tickets for the show $8.50.  Reviews were only slightly mixed; most of them were scathing when it came to the “drunken” performance of Clapton.
